Mending 101

  • Twin Oaks Branch Austin Public Library 1800 South 5th Street Austin, TX, 78704 United States (map)

Students will learn multiple hand sewing techniques to mend common wear and tear problems:

- hemming (blind hem and catch stitch)

- thread popping at the seam, creating an opening (ladder stitch)

- a clean rip in the cloth of the garment (parachute stitch)

Lauren and Clear the Air ATX will provide samples during the demo for you to practice on and take home; along with miscellaneous thread, yarns, sewing needles, snips, rulers, etc. to complete your samples.
