San Antonio, TX | Monday Mends: Hand Sewing Demo and Open Studio
Bring items with holes, tears, stains. Items that need a button reattached (buttons with holes to sew, NO METAL JEAN BUTTONS) or button hole reinforcement. Items that possibly need a hand sewn hem (usually trouser pants or pencil skirts).
You will learn different hand sewing techniques to tackle these mends.
Demo is first 2 hours of open studio window. Recommend practicing each technique during the live demo and getting feedback. After the demo, feel free to stay as long or short as you’d like to continue working on what you brought. Body doubling and problem-solving with peers is really nice when trying to finish time-consuming tasks like mending.
Please feel free to bring your projects + matching thread or scraps needed to accomplish the mend + your own supplies if you have them.
I will provide samples during the demo for you to practice on and take home; along with miscellaneous scraps, thread, yarns, sewing needles, snips, rulers, etc.

Masks are required. This is not required by the restaurant, but of me (the host and teacher.) This keeps our community safe and our immunocompromised pals included in the fun <3 There is an outdoor patio, if you haven’t worn masks in awhile and need a break. You are welcome to wear your own mask, but I will also provide them to whoever needs one :)
This ticket is set up for sliding scale pricing and has a limited number of tickets in each price level. Please select the pricing option that best fits your financial situation.
